Where to shop?

Hong Kong has a variety of shopping areas, however each place can be very similar. Which area should you shop at?
There are also many shops that are very different and is well worth it to explore.

Causeway Bay

Causeway Bay is a very popular shopping district for the locals. It is located centrally on Hong Kong Island and is one of the main MTR stops therefore easy to get to. There are lots of restaurants, shops, cinemas, beauty salons and hotels. There are two main shopping areas: Time Square and SOGO. There are New Year countdowns at Time Square. SOGO is a department store that sells everything, however since it is a department store, everything is at a fixed price unless there is a sale. Time Square has all the brand names such as Gucci. Although in the basement, their is a City Super which is a supermarket. City Super is worth checking out because a lot of what they sell is different from what a regular supermarket in North America would sell. Click here for more information: Causeway Bay

Sham Shui Po

Sham_Sui_po_2.jpgSham Shui Po is a street market where they sell beads for jewellery making, electronic goods, phone cases, clothing, hang bags, fishing equipment, camera equipment and many more. It is an outside market and allows bargaining. It can get pretty crowded on holiday dates and on good weather dates, however it is definitely a worth while experience. Be sure to watch your purse and wallets for any robberies.
Sham Shui Po is easy to locate because it is also an MTR Station.Sham_Shui_Po_3.jpg
